Rheanna O’Brien, President
White Bear Township
Rheanna is currently a teacher at Frassati Catholic Academy in White Bear Lake. Her enthusiasm for history and her students is contagious. Rheanna’s role as education liaison has been a vital one for the WBLAHS as we enhance our presence in the area schools over the next few years. Her presidency will be focused on cultivating those relationships and developing a legacy of learning for our area.
Jenni Corbett, Past President
Jenni joined the board in 2007 and ascended to the position of Secretary in 2008 and to President in 2014. She is a relative newcomer to Mahtomedi with her husband Ben and brings great enthusiasm and talent to her many roles on the WBLAHS board. In addition to her duties as Secretary, Jenni jumps in to help with events and projects throughout the year. Her fabulous talents as an artist have enhanced many of our recent projects.
Brady Ramsay, Treasurer
Brady is a CPA and owner of Ramsay & Associates in Mahtomedi, MN. He was born and raised in Mahtomedi and has a deep devotion and love of his community. Brady and his family currently live in Dellwood, MN. Brady serves as Treasurer for the White Bear Lake Area Historical Society and enjoys his role in preserving the rich history of our community.
Jo Emerson, Secretary
White Bear Lake
Jo was a new board member in 2008 and moved right into the position of Treasurer. She has served as President and with the turn of the calendar. Jo’s many talents and contributions to the Historical Society include her research skills and interest in local government. She serves on nearly every subcommittee of the board and contributes countless hours of her time and talent.
Kerri Kindsvater, At-Large
White Bear Lake
Nick Lindgren, At-Large
Nick moved to Mahtomedi from Minneapolis late in the summer of 2016 and joined the board to learn more about the community and its rich history. He has a degree in Public Relations, Marketing, and Communication. This is the second board Nick has been on and he will use his skills and past experiences to plan events, fundraise, and broaden the reach of the organization.
Dave Peterson, At-Large
White Bear Lake
In addition to his service on the WBLAHS Board, Dave is a dedicated member of the White Bear Lake Fire Department. His curiosity was piqued when he heard about the historic White Bear fire truck that was being donated to the WBLAHS and as they say, the rest is history.
Jeanenne Rausch, At-Large
White Bear Township
Jeanenne brings an active roster of community participation including her involvement with the White Bear Lake Fire Department and the schools. Her event planning and organizational skills are a wonderful asset to our organization.
The White Bear Lake Area Historical Society can achieve its mission only with the ongoing leadership, talent and financial support of its Board of Directors. Members of the Board of Directors are chosen because of their leadership and professional skills, and their experience and involvement in community affairs.
The Board of Directors is responsible for setting the course and ensuring the financial stability of the WBLAHS. Each Board Member is expected to make a meaningful contribution toward these responsibilities. The Board of Directors is the policy branch of the WBLAHS as well as a working board. Each member in good standing is entitled to one vote.

Sara Markoe Hanson, Executive Director
Sara Markoe Hanson was raised in White Bear Lake and left for a short period to attend college at St. Cloud State University where she received a BA in American Studies and a MA in Public History. After college she married and moved out of state for a few years, but returned to the area in 2001 to accept the newly created Executive Director position with the WBLAHS. Her love of history and the opportunity to return home could not have blended more smoothly with the needs of the Society. For more than a decade Hanson has developed programs, gathered stories and worked tirelessly to preserve and promote the area around White Bear Lake.
Maureen Raymond, Education & Program Coordinator
Maureen joined the WBLAHS in 2015 to fill a great need for additional program support. Her role expanded when she was hired as a half-time Education & Program Coordinator at the beginning of 2016. Her experience as a teacher, her passion for history and her ability to jump in wherever needed make her a wonderful addition to the WBLAHS team.
Kim Stieper, Office Manager
Kim began her time with the WBLAHS as a volunteer scanning photos for the online database. Since 2012 she has been the Office Manager keeping the WBLAHS organized and on task. Her role includes coordinating volunteer projects, keeping supplies and gift shop inventory stocked and most importantly greeting and assisting visitors and callers with a smile.
