| Jim Crow of the North A White Bear Lake Area Viewing and Panel Discussion Thursday, April 29 from 6:30 – 8:30 PM Online Program – REGISTRATION REQUIREDMany Faces of the White Bear Lake area invites the community to an online viewing of “Jim Crow of the North” followed by a panel discussion on April 29th, 2021 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.The event will include a live streaming of Twin Cities PBS (TPT) documentary “Jim Crow of the North” followed by a panel discussion including:- Daniel Bergin, “Jim Crow of the North” producer
- Kirsten Delegard, Project Director and Cofounder of the Mapping Prejudice Project;
- Rachel Neiwert, Associate Professor of History at St. Catherine’s University and team member of the “Welcoming the Dear Neighbor” Project, and
- Sara Hanson, Executive Director of White Bear Lake Area Historical Society
- Moderated by Tracy Shimek, Housing & Economic Development Coordinator for the City of White Bear Lake
Community members can expect to learn more about these projects, the individual stories being rediscovered in the process, and if evidence of these racist practices has been discovered in the White Bear Lake area. |
